Zipcodes.ng lists postal codes for Nigeria’s Local Government Areas (LGAs), state by state, street by street where the source data allows it.
What this site does
Each LGA page lists the postal code, or codes, NIPOST has allocated for that area, together with the individual streets and areas under each code where available. State pages group LGAs together with a quick-reference table of code ranges.
Where the data comes from
The codes on this site come from NIPOST’s published postal code allocation. No official, machine-readable NIPOST database exists publicly — every Nigerian postcode directory we checked, including this one, traces back to the same circa-2009 source list. We say so on every page rather than claim a verification we can’t back.
What “Last reviewed” means
Some LGA pages carry a “Last reviewed” date. That means we’ve specifically checked that page’s table against its source and corrected what needed fixing. Pages without a review date haven’t been individually re-checked yet — the codes are still NIPOST’s published allocation, just not independently re-verified by us.
Coverage
Coverage runs LGA by LGA, not all at once. Where we’ve found wrong or duplicated data — two different LGAs sharing one street list, for instance — we take the page out of search results rather than leave incorrect codes indexed. See the data methodology page for how we check pages and what we do when something doesn’t check out.
What’s changing
NIPOST is rolling out a new alphanumeric postcode system from October 2026. The 6-digit codes on this site stay official until that rollout reaches your area.
Found a wrong code?
Every LGA page has a “Spotted a wrong code? Tell us” link. Use it — corrections from people who actually live in or ship to an area are more reliable than any directory.
